If Andrew Nguyen hadn’t won Best Video, he would have won the Helps Developers prize. Not only did he produce this app entirely on his own, over the weekend, but he answered almost every summons for engineering help from the audience. Thanks, Andrew!

Flash newbies Indy Hurt (grad student at the Geography department at UC Santa Barbara) and Kailen Wright produced an electoral map mashup using CS4 and Arcmap.  They’ve also worked this into an AIR app!

Jennifer Sanders and Jeanne Nicholas taught themselves Flash CS4 in a weekend and produced the start of a wonderful visualization for learning Sign Language using Inverse Kinetics and an image of actual hand bones.
