First Night Good news, everyone!  There are still a few spaces left (and free copies of Flash CS4) at FlashCamp this coming weekend.  If you’re already attending, feel free to bring a friend or two — just make sure they’re registered ahead of time.

It’s going to be a blast, with Adobe catering, free coffee/espresso bar, tasty snacks and healthy ones, beer but also smart drinks, lunch and dinner.  Additionally (on Friday and Saturday) we will employ a masseuse to help you stay loose and focused on coding and building rich experiences with Flash Player 10.  So get there early and sign up for your free massage!

Along with the traditional BarCamp-style open microphone all weekend, there will also be a signup sheet for those interested in speaking on any topic in our presentation hall, Saturday afternoon or early Sunday.  These speaking opportunities include high-definition screen-capture-and-audio recording services, compliments of Adobe.  Check our Agenda for more detail.

Your fully licensed copy of Flash CS4 (plus more) will be available for install on your own machine at the event on Friday, October 10, starting at 5pm.  WiFi, Ethernet, and power strips will be provided.  Seating should be plentiful, but the best spots are first-come-first-seated.  Parking will be available either in the Adobe Garage on King Street, or nearby along 7th Street (details in the Travel section).

See you there!

Will we need to bring our machine with us in order to install or will DVD’s be handed out as previously stated?

Just curious because I’ll be heading there straight after work on Friday and not sure if I’ll be able to bring my machine with me.

    Looking forward to the event!

Yes, you’ll need your own machine during the weekend.

I am a student in a Flash Actionscript 3.0 course and registered for flashcamp yesterday (Tues. 10-08-08). Heard nothing back yet and don’t know if I will be accepted. Is there an email address that I could use to make contact and find out — at the very least make sure that my registration was received? Thanks, Christina

hi Christina, I’ll be sending out another round of confirmations today. If you registered by end of day yesterday (Tuesday), it looks like you’ll have a space. At this point we’re almost full, but don’t let that stop anyone from registering! We’ll use any additional registrations to communicate with folks about our broadcast and other ways to participate. Thanks, -Dom
